Our Work

CeleraPro and its Leadership have supported and forged continuing relationships with an array of Government clients.

Neuro-Cognitive Sensor and Psychophysiological Biometric Research

CeleraPro conducted research into the state-of-the-art in the area of Neuro-Cognitive sensors as a first step toward actualizing the development of a revolutionary Psychophysiological Biometric. The biometric is based on research conducted by Dr. Perini in George Mason University’s Human Factors and Applied Cogniton Research Labs in collaboration with the Perception and Action Neuroscience Group and the Volgenau School of Engineering.

CeleraPro participated in the research for a COVID-19 cure by donating computational resources to several COVID-19 and infectious disease research labs at the University of Washington in St. Louis Missouri. CeleraPro leadership and staff members have donated computing power from their personal and company (non-Governmental) machines to run mathematical simulations to help find a cure to COVID-19.

CeleraPro is conducting research into the state-of-the-art in the area of Neuro-Cognitive sensors as a first step toward actualizing the development of a revolutionary Psychophysiological Biometric. The biometric is based on research conducted by Dr. Perini in George Mason University’s Human Factors and Applied Cogniton Research Labs in collaboration with the Perception and Action Neuroscience Group and the Volgenau School of Engineering.

The desired signal to be collected is the P300, which has an amplitude in the single digit microvolt range. The signal is composed of neuoronal potentials that are attenuated through several tissue layers including cerebrospinal fluid, skull, and skin. As such, the sensor design must have extremely high sensitivity and resolution. New sensor materials are being considered such as graphene and new technologies such as magnetoencephalography with atomic magnetometers.

The sensor must sit atop the head or close to it and must be comfortable, convenient, and cosmetically acceptable. The signal environment is noisy requiring filters, and the collection can be hampered by a variety of disturbances, including eye blink. CeleraPro’s goal is to develop an artificial intelligence (AI) system that can learn how to adjust for disturbances as well as map the unique P300 signatures of each user to further enhance the accuracy of biometric authentication.

Over one million people and companies (devices) across the glove have contributed CPU time in this outstanding use of distributed computing. CeleraPro is in the top 6% of contributors (per the ever-changing rankings).  We highly encourage you to support this important effort, go to:

https://foldingathome.org/

Download the app.  It is safe to run on your computer (see security discussion below).  Enter your name, and Team number 265787. The term “folding” refers to the process of protein folding and the movements of proteins implicated in a variety of diseases. The project seeks to simulate protein dynamics by bringing together citizen scientists who volunteer to run simulations of protein dynamics on their personal computers. Insights from this data are helping scientists to better understand biology, and providing new opportunities for developing therapeutics.

CeleraPro highly encourages its staff to participate. You can control how much of your resources are used and when it uses them. You set the parameters so that it only runs when your machine is idle, or it can run in parallel sharing CPU time while you work. The data created by your computer will be sent back to Folding@home to analyze and add to the pool. While you sleep, your excess computing power can help scientists find an end to the COVID crisis.

Once you get to the Folding@home website, Click on “Start Folding” and allow the app to be installed on your computer.  Once the app is running (“folding”) click on Change Identity and enter your name and Team number 265787, which is CeleraPro.  Also, select Covid-19 under the “I support research fighting”.  It feels good for us as a team to be supporting the research to find a cure for this deadly virus.

What about security issues?

The computational experts at Foling@home have worked very hard to maintain the best security possible with modern computer science methodology. Their software will upload and download data only from our data server at Stanford University. It interacts with FAH files on your computer (we don’t read, write, or transmit any other files, as we don’t need to do so and doing so would violate our privacy policy). The Cores are also digitally signed (see below) to make sure that you’re getting the true Stanford cores and nothing else. They take extensive measures to check all of the data entering your computer and the results sent back to Stanford with 2048 bit digital signatures. If the signatures don’t match (on either the input or the output) the client will throw away the data and start again. This ensures, using the best software security measures developed to date (digital signatures and PKI in version 3.0), that are keeping the tightest possible security. Finally, the clients are available for download only from this web site, so that we can guarantee the integrity of the software. We do not support Folding@home software obtained elsewhere and prohibit others to distribute the software.
